February saw the first collaborative event between Letterkenny Chamber and chamber member LoughTec.

‘Protecting Your Business Profitability in 2023’ proved to be a successful event, providing valuable insights and strategies to businesses to safeguard their profitability in the current economic landscape.

The event was opened by Letterkenny Chamber’s outgoing President Kristine Reynolds, who stressed the importance of collaboration between its members, no matter the industry. Kristine highlighted the “Chamber members who adopt a ‘collective mindset’ enable growth in the North West region, creating a supportive business culture, meaningful referrals and genuine knowledge transfer.” This event was a perfect example of this in action.

Seán McDermott, CEO of LoughTec delivered the keynote address at the event, sharing his views on the current state of the economy, the challenges that businesses face and how to mitigate against cyber security threats to ensure your business remains profitable.

The keynote speech was followed by a series of informative and interactive sessions where attendees had the opportunity to learn from experts in various fields.
The panellists represented a diverse range of industries, including leisure, food technology and finance, and provided valuable insights on how businesses can adapt to the changing business environment.

The speaking lineup was as follows:
• Noel Slane, Commercial Director + Owner, Food Guard
• Conall Dunne, Principal, Conall Dunne & Co Chartered Accountants
• Alex Godkin, Head of IT, Champions Travel.

Another key feature of the event was the networking opportunities it provided. Attendees had the chance to connect with like-minded business professionals from the Letterkenny and wider Donegal/North-West area and build relationships that could benefit their businesses in the future.

The event was well-attended, with over 30 business professionals from a wide range of industries in attendance. The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the quality of the speakers and the valuable insights they gained.

In conclusion, ‘Protecting Your Business Profitability in 2023’ was a resounding success for LoughTec and the Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce. The event provided attendees with valuable insights, strategies, and networking opportunities that will help them protect their business profitability, ensuring they thrive in the current economic landscape.
We look forward to hosting similar events in the future and continuing to support businesses across the Letterkenny area.
