Jacinta Callaghan Art

Jacinta is a proud Donegal native and a self-taught oil painter whose creative journey began in childhood. From a young age, she was drawn to all things creative.

When the world slowed down during the COVID lockdown, Jacinta finally had the time and space to focus on her art. What began as a creative outlet quickly grew into something more. After restrictions were lifted, she created a gallery and gift space, where people can view and purchase her artwork by appointment.

Her oil paintings celebrate the natural beauty and soul of Donegal—its sweeping landscapes, delicate wildflowers, and ever-changing coastline. Each piece is filled with vibrant colour, texture, and heartfelt meaning. Whether it’s the light at Fanad Head, the waves at Warden Beach, or the peaceful charm of the countryside, her work connects deeply with those who cherish Donegal. Jacinta also accepts commissions to help others preserve their own special memories through art, this could be for a retirement or birthday gift.

A major milestone in her artistic journey was being asked to create a commissioned painting for Thomas P. O’Neill III, son of the late Thomas “Tip” O’Neill, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives

In 2025, Jacinta achieved a lifelong dream with her first solo art exhibition at the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny.

Some clients look for commissions and original oil paintings while others are looking for gift pieces.

To share her love of Donegal more widely, Jacinta has developed a beautiful collection of gift items featuring her artwork—art prints, slate pieces, linen cushions, chopping boards, mugs, cards, key rings, coasters, tote bags, baubles, and stars. Each piece is inspired by places that hold special meaning, making them perfect for anyone who would love a little piece of Donegal. These could be for a birthday, Christmas or end of year teacher gift.

Her work is available to purchase at Fanad Lighthouse, Co. Donegal; McFadden’s of Ramelton; Snugborough in Letterkenny; and Biddy Ó Barnes in Barnesmore Gap, as well as online at www.jacintas.com.
Her art is also occasionally displayed thanks to the kind support of The Narrow Quarter Bistro & Coffeehouse in Kerrykeel and Biddy Ó Barnes, who help showcase her work to wider audiences.
