We enjoyed learning about the journey that Founder, Jessica Peoples, originally from Arizona – has taken to bring an award winning classical based dance studio here to Letterkenny! ZoNa Dance Co. is based in a stunning, spacious studio over in the Mulroy Business Park, Altmore House, Canal Rd.
Jessica and her faculty at ZoNa are highly qualified across multiple disciplines and practices and bring with them vast international choreography experience and expertise – from Ballet (starts from age 3+) to Contemporary (age 6+) Acro (age 6+) as well as Jazz (age 6+) and even Yoga & Pilates (for 13+)
ZoNa Dance Co’s origins in Donegal began with Jessica teaching ballet classes (based on her longstanding background experience and qualifications) within another dance studio, the growth was both organic and exponential which motivated Jessica to expand and formailise the business; the company and school began with the vision of bringing dance to the young people of the northwest of Ireland. The growth since the time of the inception of the school has increased and developed beyond the original vision and each year continues to grow.
ZoNa Dance Co. were the recent winners of the ‘Best Community Health & Well Being Initiative’ – “Helping People Live Healthier Lives” award at the Letterkenny Chamber Business Awards.
ZoNa Dance Co. offer all students the opportunity to participate in live performances; locally and often, nationally! Their mission is to train and educate dancers both at recreational and pre-professional levels and to provide an accessible resource for students, teachers and the wider community. There are both children’s and adult classes available.
ZoNa Dance Company offers a carefully structured non-competitive dance course in Ballet, Contemporary dance, Acro dance Jazz Dance, Pilates and Yoga. ZoNa Dance Company believes that dance seeks to provide a context for aesthetic and artistic experience which enables the individual to develop personally, socially and physically through participation in dance and choreography in an enjoyable environment.
